The Fastest Cars In The World

By Anthony K

With many cars available in the market, the question of speed has been lingering on many people’s minds. Back in 1914, speed fans took it upon themselves to find the answer to this query. At this point, rules were made regarding the sport of land speed racing. Per the rules, speed is averaged based on speed and turn to take care of road surface and wind resistance.

According to FIA’s judgment, the title of “fastest car” goes to a specially-built vehicle called the ThrustSSC. This ride attained a speed of 763.035 miles per hour (1,227.985 kilometers per hour) in October 1997. Twenty-five years later, this record remains unbeaten. In addition, ThrustSSC became the first recorded land vehicle to break the sound barrier.

Judging by the looks, this machine is hardly a car. It is powered by twin jet engines, making it more plane than car. With that in mind, here are some of the actual cars you can go out and buy if you are a speed fan.

The Koenigsegg Agera RS is another speed master on our list. Thanks to its sleek design, you can tell that this car is nothing to mess with in terms of speed and affluence. The car is outfitted with out-of-this-world features that make it stand out from the rest.

SSC (unrelated to ThrustSSC) took to the international scene in 2019 with a new Tuatara hypercar. This car clocked a ridiculous 331-mph (532.6-kmph) top speed in the company’s one-way test, and essentially matched that on the two-way test with an average of 317 mph (510 kmph).
